Founder

Kari Hough, PT, DPT

I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness, but it wasn’t until my doctoral training that I truly discovered my calling—pelvic health. While in grad school, I faced my own pelvic health struggles and quickly realized how crucial this care is for women, and yet, how often it’s overlooked. This personal experience shaped my career focus, and helping women navigate pelvic health has been my passion ever since.

Now, as a new mom going through postpartum recovery, I’ve gained an even deeper understanding. It’s one thing to approach pelvic health as a professional, but living through it has given me a greater empathy and a stronger drive to support other women on their own journeys.

My journey into my educational training began with my undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at SVSU in Michigan, where I laid the foundation for my passion. I then pursued my doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at Trine University in Fort Wayne, Indiana. To deepen my expertise, I have completed specialized training in pelvic health and obstetrics through the Academy of Pelvic Health. This educational background, combined with my personal experiences, fuels my commitment to empowering women on their wellness journeys.

I understand how important it is to feel heard and supported, especially during the challenges of postpartum recovery or managing pelvic health issues. My approach is simple—every woman deserves care that’s not only expert and personalized but also compassionate. I focus on helping you regain your strength, rebuild your confidence, and feel empowered in your body again. It’s not just about the physical recovery; I’m here for the emotional journey too, because I’ve been there, and I know how much it matters to feel truly understood.

I’m married to my best friend, Cory, who I met during my freshman year of undergrad. We were lab partners in anatomy and physiology—he had some “studying” motives, which blossomed into a beautiful relationship over the years. We welcomed our precious daughter, Stella, into our lives in March of 2024, and she has already brought us so much joy and laughter.

As a Michigan native, I’m no stranger to cold winters (though I can’t say I love them!). My mom is my best friend and a huge inspiration for my passion for women’s health. Growing up, I watched her selflessly care for my disabled sister while always putting our needs first. Her dedication taught me the importance of self-care and supporting one another, especially during challenging times. It’s a value I carry into my practice, wanting every woman to feel empowered to prioritize her health and well-being.

Now, as I navigate the ups and downs of motherhood, I draw on my own experiences to better understand the challenges my clients face. Whether it’s finding time for fitness amidst the chaos or simply needing someone to listen, I aim to create a welcoming space where women feel heard and supported. I believe that every woman deserves to feel strong and confident, and I’m here to help guide that journey.

Staying active has always been a huge part of my life. I love CrossFit, running, and now, “weighted baby walks” with Stella bring a whole new level of joy and fitness to my day. I also coach group fitness classes, where I get to share my passion for movement and help others feel strong. When I’m not in full mom-mode or working, you’ll likely find me curled up watching “The Masked Singer” with Cory or recharging with a much-needed cold brew coffee.

Christine Hauptfuhrer, PT, DPT

I’ve always been passionate about helping others feel strong and confident in their bodies. My journey as a physical therapist started in outpatient orthopedics, where I gained a deep understanding of how the body works as a whole. This holistic approach naturally led me to specialize in pelvic health, where I now focus on helping women reclaim their strength and confidence.

As a mom of two, I’ve experienced firsthand the physical and emotional challenges of postpartum recovery, and I’m stronger for it. It is my mission to help other women feel that same power in their own bodies.

I started my education at the University of Virginia, where I majored in Kinesiology. After that, I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami, Florida. Along the way, I became certified in Pilates, personal training, and as a Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. Each step of my education has deepened my understanding of the female body and how to best support women through every stage of life.

Listening is at the heart of how I approach care. I understand the strength it takes to ask for help, and I want my patients to feel heard and supported without judgment. My goal is to help people unlock their inner strength, build confidence, and fall in love with movement again. Movement is key to healing, and I’m always looking for exercises that tap into each patient’s unique strengths and make them feel empowered.

I’m married to my wonderful husband, and we have two beautiful children who keep us active and on our toes. As a first-generation Cuban-American, I’m proud to speak Spanish and love sharing my culture with my family, especially through food and music. There’s nothing like a good Cuban meal to bring everyone together.

Dance was my first love as a child—it’s where I found my joy and my outlet for expression. That passion for movement is something I’ve carried with me throughout my life. Today, I enjoy staying active by biking, hiking, running, or just being outside with my toes in the grass. I’m also a bit of a nerd when it comes to learning about the body and mental health. I feel blessed to be on this path, helping others improve their well-being on both a physical and emotional level.
